Science

I have always enjoyed citizen science. For years, it mostly involved volunteering for environmental justice and restoration projects. It was not until I took honors chemistry in my sophomore year in high school that I became fascinated learning about the building blocks of our world, and what that knowledge can do to help people heal, such as my grandfather.
At school I am currently involved in:
Biology Research Club
I researched the “Effects of Oxybenzone in Sunscreen to Coral Reefs.” I presented the findings at BioBuilders conference at MIT in 2024 with the club. Our research has been accepted for publication by BioTreks, and is slated for publication this fall. I also arranged sponsorship, design, and production of custom t-shirts to promote team spirit.
Chemistry Club
I participate in chemistry experiments such as creating polyurethane foam insulation, and learn their applications.
